Who is the retreat leader?

Glennis Johnston B Soc Wk, BTh, BA Hons, the owner and manager of Fernbrook Lodge, is the Retreat Leader or Facilitator. Glennis grew up on a dairy farm in Queensland and studied Social Work in Brisbane where she then worked in disability, child protection, and crisis counselling. Later Glennis studied theology and was ordained into ministry in the Uniting Church, from which she has now retired. She completed a two-year research Honours Degree in Humanities (New Testament Studies) from Griffith University where she gained 1st Class Honours. After advanced studies and 16 years in parish ministry Glennis moved to Melbourne where she became the Spiritual Director of a multi-cultural/multi-faith live-in community with Initiatives of Change. Glennis completed a two-year part-time Retreat Leaders’ Formation Course from Barnabas Ministries, based in Canberra. Now Glennis combines her love of the country, hospitality, personal growth and spirituality at Fernbrook Lodge, which operates as both a B&B and Retreat Centre.
